Thunar 1.6.10, Xfce 4.12, Xubuntu 15.10 In detailed list view, if there are enough files to fill the window, right-clicking on a file near the bottom of the window makes the right-click menu appear for a fraction of a second before it disappears and Rename is automatically selected every time. Right clicking on a file near the top of the window and then right-clicking on a file near the bottom again fixes it; but if I then move the scrollbar, the problem returns.
When I'm using detailed view the right click behaviour is weird. I point and click to open the right click menu and the click is followed by the automatic selection that what is nearest of the pointer. Every time I need to right click and hold the button to choose the right menu option.
I have the same problem with Thunar 1.6.12 in Xubuntu 17.10. Problem exists since at least 1.6.10. and occurs on two different machines. I found several similar reports in the web, but none of the tips (mostly theme-related) solved the problem.
I can confirm that bug on my machine also - Xubuntu 17.10 with Thunar 1.6.12. It occurs on Xubuntu 18.04 with Thunar 1.6.15 also.
It seems the port to GTK3 in 1.8 has fixed this bug. At least it has for me in Arc-Dark. At least, the version of this bug that specifically happened only in detailed view and only with certain themes, including Arc-Dark, which was the only version of it that ever affected me.
Since the bug seems not to appear any more in thunar 1.8.x, I guess it was fixed by the patch of #14216 If this bug should show up again in >1.8.x, please feel free to reopen ! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 14216 ***
