Successive uses of timedatectl cause window controls and autocutsel to fail

RESOLVED: DUPLICATE

Description Scott A. Rossell 2016-02-24 09:46:51 CET
Multiple (3 or more) uses of timedatectl command freeze windows in last used location, leaving the minimize, maximize and close buttons non-functional as well as disabling autocutsel for cut and paste.

Running Raspbian Jessie headless with VNC on a Mac.

I now this is odd, but I'm using the date set function to communicate between Fuze BASIC and Apache to trigger Fuze functions with PHP commands.

Had to remove Xfce and use LXDE or MATE instead. The bug does not occur with those two environments.

X uses timestamps to manage its pointer/keyboard grabs, changing the clock (especially setting the clock backward) can cause all sorts of issues.

Fine, closing then, this is a (broken) corner case and not something worth investigating.

Most likely a dupe of bug 10184, you may want to try the patch attached there (but I don't really agree with that patch)
