Created attachment 5954 Task switcher of windows 7 respecting the aspect ratio of the screen. Hi, The buttons currently used are square (1x1), but the screens generally have a ratio of 16x9 or 4x3. Well, the windows, 90% of the time are maximized covering the screen (and if not are maximized, most likely resize them similar to the screen). having a ratio of 16x9 or 4x3. The problem is than just wasted vertical space (Little on screens 16x9), and also looks a bit ugly. haha. =) Attached a screenshot of task switcher Windows 7 with preview. Now back to linux and attached capture of xfwm to compare. ;) Regards.
Created attachment 5955 Task switcher of Xfwm4. Attached a screenshot of xfwm4 compiled from Git. As you can see, 90% of the time, has at least 70px (10% of my screen) wasted by the use of a square button. And remove this space would do it so much nicer!. Regards.
Our goal is not to resemble Windows, not even from far away. Beauty is always in the eyes of the beholder, and I do find Windows ugly ("haha"). I genuinely do prefer the way it's done in xfwm4, it gives a chance to reduce the overlap between the window and its icon.
Oliver, I do not want look xfce like windows. If thus, I would not take the job of compiling so much. and would use windows. haha. It was just an example to compare. ;) Making this small change (Of course it's easy for me to assume that there is little work. Sorry), IMHO it really would look better and really think it is a wasted space. Of course, if I can not provide any patch, I will respect your desision. Regards, Thanks for all the work!. ;)
