Since the most archivers are outdated or require other depencities like gnome etc. why not integrate unp into thunar? it's a small modular perl script that can extract almost everything thunar could also check at startup which unp depencies are installed and provide the extract menu on those files unp source: https://packages.debian.org/source/wheezy/unp supported files: https://screenshots.debian.net/package/unp
