When I use the "Tile window to left" or "Tile window to right" window manager action, the maximize button on the window doesn't work until I drag the window out of its tiled position. Observed in XFCE 4.10.1 on Fedora Core 20.
Tiling use partial maximization in xfwm4 (i.e. maximize horizontally or vertically) which is a feature listed in freedesktop.org EWMH, but it seems that Google Chrome does not support that. Try using native window manager decoration with Chrome and it should work, it's just Google Chrome that does not know how to handle partial maximization.
Bug still exists, and does in fact appear to be only Chrome. It's been bugging me for quite some time (well over a year), but Olivier's solution to keep chrome using native window manager is working.
