XFFM does not show all available smb workgroups/domains if they are on different subnet. However, it is possible to get those names by: 1. runing nmblookup as it is now and tak IP of our MB 2. quering MB with smbclient and take workgroup names and their MBs.
Actually, xfsamba works the way you suggest. Each workgroup has one master browser per subnet, and the only way to "see" workstations on the other subnet is to query the master broswer on that subnet. Master browsers from all subnets should appear in every MB workstation list, but you have to guess which one is which. MB from workgroups on other subnets may or may not appear on the local subnet MB, depending on local routing network configuration and WINS set up. Please check xfsamba from xfce-3.18 (may coexist with xfce 4.x) and see if it works better. There are some minor differences and a comparison feedback would help.
