Just a guess, can you post/check a result of: $ ldd `which thunar` Last time I have seen "weird" thunar crashes they were caused by two different versions of libraries (afair some plugins) linked together. Watch for any suspicious path differences.

After a week of research, the segfault was caused by my conky. Changing my conky files made just the bug disappear.
