Created attachment 5272 screencapture of "(or so it seems)" After I have renamed a file in Thunar 1.6.3, the last file selected seems to be the renamed file ...but if I press the Enter key to open the file, it is the file that is located in the sort order where the previous renamed file was located that is being opened. Example: if a directory has the following files: 1.txt 3.txt 4.txt a.txt and the file "a.txt" is renamed (using the F2 key) to "2.txt", this results in the renamed file being selected by default (or so it seems). But, if I press the Enter key, the file being opened is the one where the renamed file was located in the list, in this case the file: 4.txt This scenario also occurs when the file being renamed ends up lower down in the sort order from where it was...but everything works as expected if the renamed file's sort order location does not change. Additional observation: Above, where I wrote "(or so it seems)", I noticed that the renamed file is selected, but it looks like the file that is in the renamed file's previous position is partially selected. I have attached an image of what that looks like. Let me know if I can be of additional assistance...and keep up the great work! Cheers, Rob :-)
I report a similar problem; 1. user renames file - file will go to new location in list (to dynamically maintain alphabetically arrangement). The same file appears to be selected (dark blue), but the item directly adjacent/below its original location is part selected with faint "dotted" selection... 2. user clicks click up/down arrow - the selection goes to the wrong spot (it moves about the arbitrary faint "dotted" selection rather than the original file currently selected) This bug appears directly related to https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9870 "When file is deleted, focus does not stay on the nearest remaining file"
The wrong file selected problem should be fixed in git master.
