I've included the Orage plugin in my panel. I have some alarms set up in Orage. Symptom 1: When the said times arrive, the alarms don't start (no notification, no window, no sound). Symptom 2: when I click the panel plugin "icon" [not a real icon but time & date in my case] for the first time after logging in, nothing happens. I must click a second time for the calendar window to open. Afterwards, it closes and opens normally when I click the plugin icon. Symptom 3: If I've previously clicked the icon during current session, alarms work correctly. My findings: When I log in, "ps -ef|grep orage" shows that xfce4-orageclock-plugin is running, but not orage. When I click the icon for the first time, orage starts. As a sidenote, I've hesitated between "major" and "critical" severity, since a calendar that doesn't remind you your appointments is less than useful...
I've set "version" to 4.10 since "strings /usr/lib/xfce4/panel-plugins/xfce4-orageclock-plugin|grep '4\.'" yields "4.10.1". Not sure though. Orage version is 4.8.4.
You need to start orage, before it can do anything. Set orage to be autostarted or add it to your pofile to get it started when you login.

Of course I can still do something in .profile, but I'll need to test whether it's an X session. Is .profile sourced after the start of Xfce?

> So, what should I do to see orage in autostarted apps? ok, that may not be so easy. And it very much depends on your environment. You might try to add it to your .xinitrc. This is at least where it is started in my system. But it really varies.
The orage project is not maintained anymore and has been archived. Closing bugs.
