Created attachment 5253 Use xkbmap to reset layout before unlock xscreensaver doesn't have keyboard layout support by design. As such, trying to guess which current keyboard layout is active when unlocking the screen is a very annoying experience. The following minor patch (Based on this [1] solution) simply switches the current keyboard layout to US, without breaking the keyboard layout configuration. At least as far as I can test, this (very minor) patch works just fine on multiple machines - and should not break anything - including non-English passwords. - Gilboa [1] http://www.reddit.com/r/xfce/comments/11yi34/reset_the_keyboard_layout_on_xscreensaver_lock/
P.S. I'll upgrade the patch later on to support single-non-english layout use-cases.
