It would be great if multiple timezones could be displayed in an integrated manner (I wouldn't consider orage's globaltime to be integrated in a user-friendly way).

This could be tastefully done like the application "gsimplecal". (You'd probably want a GUI tool for configuring this, but to me that's not essential.)

Instead of in the datetime-plugin, this could also be done in the clock-plugin. (But I would prefer it in datetime, because that would be the one-stop for all my date/time needs!)

OT: This is the last issue that is blocking our deployment of XFCE4.

Clock plugin (xfce4-panel 4.11.x) has a similar feature.

Looks great! I'm assuming there is a way to customize the labels -- is it through editing a file or through a GUI? I thing this plugin solves a huge outstanding issue!

I agree. It would be great if the xfce4-datetime-plugin's drop down window could display clocks for other timezones. This is really helpful for teams distributed globally.

+1 for kip comment. I need about 6 timezones to see the time in and having all of them in the panel will flood the panel.
So having that in a dropdown will be much better. Under the calendar widget will be is a great spot I think with a layout similar to:
_____
| | New York (EST)
| | 09:00 AM
------

It's been a long time since I used Gnome, but if I recall, the clock / calendar applet did this:

thats exactly that I want :)
Comment 9 Kip 2017-09-27 01:02:43 CEST
Yeah, me too. And ideally showing the calendar schedule too pulled from EDS if compiled with support for it.
Comment 10 PePas 2017-09-27 04:11:05 CEST
That gnome2 (now MATE) clock applet is the crown of clock applets. It's the reason I'm using MATE right now. It's also the reason I cannot use XFCE at the moment. But just a customizable shortlist of timezones would be good enough.

As a workaround you can add multiple clock plugins to the panel, and set a different timezone for each one. Displaying time for multiple timezones _inside_ the context/calendar menu would be even nicer though.
